No single word guarantees premium quality like the word “Denali.” Since the first GMC Yukon Denali was released in 1999, the moniker has informed customers that the vehicle they’re purchasing is of the highest grade through and through.
The Sierra Denali Ultimate will increase its luxury appointments to offer more comfort, design, and performance amenities to the already best-in-class quality of the Sierra Denali. It debuted at the Los Angeles Auto Show and will go on sale late in the first quarter of 2016.
The Canyon Denali, which also debuted at the Los Angeles Auto Show, is the first Denali version of GMC’s best-selling midsize Canyon pickup. The Denali title will bring new premium features such as a heated steering wheel, a remote vehicle starter system, and a full-color driver information center.
What do you think of the new GMC Denalis? (Besides envy, of course.) Come see us today at Hatfield Buick GMC, and discover why we love them so much.
Already, this winter has been one of the strangest, wildest, most dangerous seasons in a long, long time, and it’s all thanks to that strange weather phenomenon we call “El Niño.”
So, what do you do when you need to get from Point A to Point B in bad weather? Our first tip is just to stay home, but if you need to be out driving in El Niño, here are a few tips to keep you safe:
- Check your tires (an easy procedure: just stick a penny head-first into the tread; if any of Abe’s head is hidden, your tires are good to go). If you tread is worn, your traction is compromised and your chances of skidding, sliding, or slipping are greatly increased.
- Avoid low elevation and valleys. Heavy rain means flooding and puddling, which can mean hydroplaning, which can me big accidents. This is one time when you really should take the high road!
- Don’t use cruise control in wet conditions. In the event of hydroplaning or skidding, your car can accelerate instead of safely slowing.
- Invest in snow tires. These really can make all the difference when the weather turns cold and rain turns into snow
Driving in inclement weather of any kind is a dangerous proposition, so the best thing you can do if you have to be on the road is remain aware, informed, and assertive. For more tips, stay in touch with us at Hatfield Buick GMC.
If you’ve been car shopping in the last couple of years, you may have noticed that a seemingly important feature of some new cars has gone missing – the trusty spare tire. Thanks to improved technology, both in the tires themselves and in temporary tire repair, AAA reports that more than 36% of new 2015 models were sold without the spare tire.
Spare tires are heavy and take up a considerable amount of space in any car. By ditching the spare tire, automakers can claim better fuel economy numbers for their vehicles and improve cargo space. In place of spare tires, many automakers are putting to use run-flat tires or emergency flat-tire inflation kits.
Run-flat tires are designed to allow a driver to continue driving on a flat tire at a reduced speed until they can safely get to a repair shop or home. Emergency flat-tire inflation kits on the other hand, allow drivers to temporarily repair small punctures in the tire’s tread (keep in mind this kind of repair won’t work on the tire’s side wall).
Additionally, many new cars also come with road-side assistance for a specified amount of time, so that in the event you do have a flat tire, you won’t need to repair the tire yourself.

Remember when the Buick Envision mid-size crossover debuted in China last year? We were pretty jealous. American auto enthusiasts everywhere agreed – when can we get our hands on that thing?
According to Automotive News, that day could be coming sooner than we think. Two sources close to the project have revealed that GM is moving forward with plans for an American Buick Envision, and we could see it as soon late spring next year.
If this is true, the Envision would mark the first instance of one of the Big Three Detroit auto manufacturers importing a light vehicle from China.
Currently, GM is declining to comment, calling these reports nothing more than speculation. It remains to be seen if and when the automaker will begin deliveries of the Buick Envision to the U.S. Check back in with the Hatfield Buick GMC blog often for more updates as they become available!
If you love both your Buick and books, then this new announcement should make you very happy. Buick has partnered with Audiobooks.com to offer two free book downloads to Buick customers with an active OnStar subscription through the end of the year.
This offer continues to expand the OnStar AtYourService program that delivers value to customers every day. In addition to these free downloads, customers can use this service to see location-based offers at retailers or even book a hotel room through priceline.com.
On all 2016 Buick models, OnStar 4G LTE Wi-Fi will come as standard. This means, it will be really easy to listen to your free audiobooks during your daily drives.
“Using connectivity to offer new value and services demonstrates our innovative approach to customer service,” said Duncan Aldred, global vice president of Buick Sales, Service and Marketing, in a statement. “The features delivered through our 4G LTE connectivity platform have the potential to make every drive more productive or entertaining. This is not technology just for technology’s sake.”

Every year, on November 11, we honor all the men and women who have worked and fought so hard to help protect our freedom. This year, we will once again celebrate Veterans Day in Redlands with a parade, picnic, and family celebration.
The event will be held on November 11th with a breakfast picnic starting at 8am at Jennie Davis Park. The parade will then begin at 9am at Redlands High School, will move down Citrus Avenue and end at Jennie Davis Park. In the parade you’ll see military vehicles, marching bands, floats, classic cars, service clubs, school ROTC units, government leaders, veterans organizations, and more.
Following the parade, there will be a ceremony to honor our veterans at 10:30am at Jennie Davis Park. Afterwards, there will lots of family fun at the park throughout the afternoon.
If you are a veteran or know someone who is, the parade organizers are still looking for more Hometown Heroes to march in the parade. You can contact Mario Saucedo at 909-798-7540 or attend an informational meeting on November 7th from 9-10am at Sylvan Park for more information. If you liked the Buick Avenir Concept that was unveiled at the 2015 Detroit Auto Show, you’ll love what Buick has in store for us.
The automaker has just launched a new teaser image of the new 2017 Buick LaCrosse, which borrows some of the most beautiful design elements from the Avenir Concept. Chrome wings meet in the center of the grille where a three-color version of the classic Tri-Shield logo rests elegantly, while vertical hrome bars direct your eyes toward the body.
By 2018, our customers should expect our entire Buick lineup to feature a version of this design at Hatfield Buick GMC. As far as the LaCrosse is concerned, it should also ride on a stronger, lighter platform and get a new five-link rear suspension to make it even more engaging to drive.
“The Avenir concept shattered expectations of what a Buick could be and the 2017 LaCrosse promises to do the same,” said Duncan Aldred, vice president of Buick.

Did you know that, unlike most health insurance plans, car insurance can be applied anywhere? This major difference between car and health insurance is often misunderstood.
While many car insurance plans strongly suggest which auto body repair facilities you should use, you have the right to choose exactly where to take your vehicle to be fixed – at no extra cost – even if it isn’t on your insurance plan’s list.
Auto repair insurance reduces the cost of repairing your vehicle after an accident, but if you incorrectly believe that you must find a place “covered” by your insurance, getting your car fixed can be extremely inconvenient.
This common misconception causes headaches for many, who assume that their car insurance works just like their health insurance. This is definitely not the case. In fact, any suggestions made by a car insurance company cannot be enforced upon you, the law says so.
