Thanksgiving is coming up fast, and it’s easy to get overwhelmed by the million sides you have to make, especially if you’re hosting. Food Network has a massive list of over a hundred great Thanksgiving side dishes, but here are some of our favorites to help you narrow it down.
There are lots of different kinds of Thanksgiving sides—veggies, starches, desserts, casseroles, breads, and so on. Casseroles, in particular, are a hallmark of Thanksgiving dishes, especially green bean casserole, and you can’t go wrong with a dish from the master himself, Alton Brown.
For a lighter option, and to satisfy all the vegetarians out there, try these balsamic-roasted brussels sprouts, or go with this more versatile roasted potatoes, carrots, parsnips, and brussels sprouts recipe from Giada De Laurentiis.
Breads and starches are an essential part of any Thanksgiving meal. Try these delicious-looking homemade dinner rolls from Bobby Flay’s kitchen and scalloped potatoes gratin from Tyler Florence (yes, we said and). You can even do a twist on traditional potatoes and make this incredible loaded baked potato casserole!
For dessert-y sides, there’s the ever popular sweet potato casserole, or go a little more out of the box and try the Neelys’ sweet potato soufflé. And, of course, you can never go wrong with cranberry sauce.
Thanksgiving will be here before you know it, so make sure you have a car you can rely on for your holiday travels and give us a call today at Hatfield Buick GMC!
Kids everywhere look forward all year to the fun of Halloween night. But, in all of the excitement, don’t forget to follow these trick or treating safety tips to ensure you and your kids have a blast.
Whether you’ll be out with the kids or staying at home, be sure to plan a route in advance. Pick one that’s not too long and stays within familiar territory.
Wear Comfy Shoes
Outfit the kids and yourself in comfortable walking shoes. No matter the costume, remember that you’ll be on foot all night. A princess costume will look just as good without the high heels!
Integrate bright and reflective materials into costumes. Reflective tape and brightly colored paints will look cool and keep the kids safe as they run around in the dark.
Overly large costumes that make it hard to move or drag on the ground are dangerous, especially in the dark. Make sure costumes let feet move freely and don’t cover up the hands or face.
Masks may seem like a simple way to complete a costume but, in reality, they can make it hard to breathe and obscure your child’s vision. Non-toxic face paint is easy and safe!
At the end of the night, do a quick check of the candy your kids have collected. Discard anything that’s not in its original wrapper or looks like it’s been tampered with.
Avoid unnecessary Halloween stress this year with these simple trick-or-treat safety tips. Then, for the ultimate seasonal treat, stop by Hatfield Buick GMC today!
The 2018 Buick Enclave represents a complete overhaul of the Enclave nameplate. The full-size, three-row SUV is even more stylish and elegant than before with a new powertrain and enticing standard features.
Under the hood of the 2018 Buick Enclave lurks a 3.6-liter V6 engine, partnered with Buick’s new nine-speed automatic transmission. This engine lays out 302 horsepower and 260 lb-ft of torque. The Enclave comes as a front-wheel-drive model but is available with Intelligent All-Wheel Drive.
Though the new Enclave has not undergone safety testing, it is built on the same chassis as the 2017 Chevrolet Traverse, which earned a five-star
overall safety rating from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA). We expect similar results from the 2018 Enclave.
Standard on the new Enclave are tri-zone climate control, Android Auto™ and Apple CarPlay™ compatibility, LED taillights, pushbutton start, and keyless entry. You’ll get 20-inch alloy wheels, bifunctional LED headlights, and more on the Enclave Avenir model, which is new for 2018.
Key competitors for the Enclave include the Audi Q7, the Volkswagen Touareg, the Lexus RX, and the Volvo XC90.

If you’re taking the kids to school, odds are you’ll be passing through at least one, but likely more, school zones. That means you’ll need to keep your eyes open for other parents dropping their kids off, buses, pedestrians, and small children in general.
Avoid honking at pedestrians and always stop for flashing lights. Make sure to listen to the school patrol officer or crossing guard.
Helping to reduce the number of vehicles dropping kids off is one way to ease the stress of back-to-school driving. Converse with other parents and make a schedule that dictates who has the responsibility, of taking the kids to school each morning. Don’t forget to decide who picks them up afterward, too!
Beware of Buses
School buses are hard to miss, so there’s no excuse for passing or crashing into one. If the lights are flashing or the stop arm is extended, use caution and come to a complete stop. Don’t try to speed past the bus as the doors are opening—the last thing any parent or driver wants is an injured child.
Make sure to follow these tips, and driving while school is in session will be safer for everyone.

Independence Day is right around the corner and will be here before you know it. Are you prepared to celebrate the day the United States officially broke away from Great Britain and the Revolutionary War began? The Fourth of July serves as a day of celebration of the courage the original colonies had. Here are some fun ways to celebrate the Fourth of July recommended by us here at Hatfield Buick GMC.
You don’t have to dress in red, white, and blue or repaint your car to show your patriotism. Simply flying the American flag will do just fine. Consider hanging a flag from your house, car, or in the office at work. It might be worth finding a string of flags to hang if you plan on having a Fourth of July party.
Attend a Parade
Cities around the country celebrate the Fourth of July with parades that show off their American spirit. Don’t forget sunscreen, a hat, and water; some of the parades can get pretty lengthy.
Watch the Fireworks
Is there anymore more traditional than simply watching a local fireworks show? Communities come together to put on a fireworks display that tends to grow year after year. Ask a city official about the local fireworks show. If there isn’t one, ask about starting one!
It is well known that a Buick Regal redesign is in the works for the 2018 model year and we may have just gotten a sneak peek at what it will look like.
The European equivalent of Buick is the Opel brand and, in Europe, the Buick Regal is known as the Opel Insignia. Recently, a non-camouflaged 2018 model was seen cruising the streets in Europe. The Insignia has an athletic stance with crisp lines running from nose to tail.
Now we know that the 2018 Buick Regal will share the same powerful styling as the Insignia, as well as being available in multiple body styles.
In addition to the Regal sedan, the updated model will come in a wagon and liftback variants. Each of these models will have its own name and purpose. The Regal Sportback will have coupe-like styling and will give drivers a more engaging driving experience, while the Regal TourX is more adventure oriented with features like roof rails and higher ground clearance.
The 2018 Regal Sportback should be coming to Hatfield Buick GMC this fall and the Regal TourX should arrive by the end of the year. As for the updated sedan model, Buick hasn’t officially announced a release date, but it could also arrive by the end of the year.

The New York International Auto Show will see several automakers introducing new concepts, models, and ideas, and one of the brands making a big splash will be Buick. Industry insiders are looking forward to the introduction of the 2018 Enclave, which will see the SUV receiving a next-generation upgrade after a decade-long run. However, Buick is also harboring another surprise – the new Avenir brand – a high-end luxury company based on Buick’s popular Avenir concept.
The Avenir brand isn’t so much its own separate entity as much as a sub-brand of Buick. It will incorporate many nameplates from Buick’s lineup, including the aforementioned Enclave, while adding in new and more upscale features – such as a cabin with more premium materials, as well as design elements like upgraded wheels and unique grilles. These styling cues will be adapted from the Avenir concept, which attracted the attention of enthusiasts and experts alike back in 2015.
The next-gen Buick Enclave will adopt the same new signature styling we’ve already seen on the LaCrosse and Encore. We at Hatfield Buick GMC are also excited to see the touches added onto the Enclave by the new Avenir brand. Keep an eye out for a launch date, as well as details on more vehicles and nameplates that will be added to the Avenir lineup.
There’s no doubt about it: the easiest way to save money on gas and lower your environmental impact is to simply carpool. But whether you’re carpooling with the neighbors’ kids to school in the morning or with your friends on a road trip, carpooling can be more stressful than you think.
To prepare you, we’ve assembled these simple carpool tips:
- Plan a schedule ahead of time, concerning who will drive and when, and stick to it. This will eliminate room for arguing.
- Prepare appropriately. If you’re carpooling with children, stock some games and books in the back. With friends? Design the ultimate playlist ahead of time.
- Plan your path, instead of relying blindly on a navigation system, and explore cheap gas options on your route.
- It’s always a good idea to know the emergency locations during your drive, from hospitals to simple rest stops.
- If you’re the one in the back seat, not the front, do your best not to distract the driver, keeping the volume at an appropriate level.
- Lastly, be strong! Try not to get frustrated in traffic, at your guests, or other potential irritants. Losing your cool can only make a situation worse.

The North American International Auto Show saw the reveal of the 2018 GMC Terrain redesign, which follows GMC’s evolving design language and introduces new bold, modern styling.
The new Terrain has sharper lines and more sculpted accents like the redesigned grille and lighting elements, plus a new shape developed by tweaking it to perfection in the wind tunnel for a quieter cabin and more aerodynamic body.
The Denali trim is also all-new and features the signature Denali chrome grille, body-color fascias, chrome roof rails, and body-side molding, plus LED headlamps and ultra-bright aluminum wheels.
The Terrain’s interior has been updated too. Soft-touch materials and premium accents give the Terrain extra luxury, and its active noise cancellation works with the sculpted exterior to create a super quiet ride. Fold-flat rear and passenger seats allow for more cargo space than ever.
Technology and engineering are better than ever, with 7- or 8-inch infotainment systems, turbocharged engine choices, and tons of new safety features. Parents will especially love Surround Vision, Forward Collision Alert with Following Distance Indicator, and Low-Speed Forward Automatic Braking, just three of the seven new features available on the 2018 Terrain.
More updates on the 2018 Terrain and other new GMC vehicles are sure to come in the next months, so don’t miss out! The new GMC lineup is sure to be more refined and advanced than ever.
