It is well known that a Buick Regal redesign is in the works for the 2018 model year and we may have just gotten a sneak peek at what it will look like.
The European equivalent of Buick is the Opel brand and, in Europe, the Buick Regal is known as the Opel Insignia. Recently, a non-camouflaged 2018 model was seen cruising the streets in Europe. The Insignia has an athletic stance with crisp lines running from nose to tail.
Now we know that the 2018 Buick Regal will share the same powerful styling as the Insignia, as well as being available in multiple body styles.
In addition to the Regal sedan, the updated model will come in a wagon and liftback variants. Each of these models will have its own name and purpose. The Regal Sportback will have coupe-like styling and will give drivers a more engaging driving experience, while the Regal TourX is more adventure oriented with features like roof rails and higher ground clearance.
The 2018 Regal Sportback should be coming to Hatfield Buick GMC this fall and the Regal TourX should arrive by the end of the year. As for the updated sedan model, Buick hasn’t officially announced a release date, but it could also arrive by the end of the year.

The New York International Auto Show will see several automakers introducing new concepts, models, and ideas, and one of the brands making a big splash will be Buick. Industry insiders are looking forward to the introduction of the 2018 Enclave, which will see the SUV receiving a next-generation upgrade after a decade-long run. However, Buick is also harboring another surprise – the new Avenir brand – a high-end luxury company based on Buick’s popular Avenir concept.
The Avenir brand isn’t so much its own separate entity as much as a sub-brand of Buick. It will incorporate many nameplates from Buick’s lineup, including the aforementioned Enclave, while adding in new and more upscale features – such as a cabin with more premium materials, as well as design elements like upgraded wheels and unique grilles. These styling cues will be adapted from the Avenir concept, which attracted the attention of enthusiasts and experts alike back in 2015.
The next-gen Buick Enclave will adopt the same new signature styling we’ve already seen on the LaCrosse and Encore. We at Hatfield Buick GMC are also excited to see the touches added onto the Enclave by the new Avenir brand. Keep an eye out for a launch date, as well as details on more vehicles and nameplates that will be added to the Avenir lineup.
There’s no doubt about it: the easiest way to save money on gas and lower your environmental impact is to simply carpool. But whether you’re carpooling with the neighbors’ kids to school in the morning or with your friends on a road trip, carpooling can be more stressful than you think.
To prepare you, we’ve assembled these simple carpool tips:
- Plan a schedule ahead of time, concerning who will drive and when, and stick to it. This will eliminate room for arguing.
- Prepare appropriately. If you’re carpooling with children, stock some games and books in the back. With friends? Design the ultimate playlist ahead of time.
- Plan your path, instead of relying blindly on a navigation system, and explore cheap gas options on your route.
- It’s always a good idea to know the emergency locations during your drive, from hospitals to simple rest stops.
- If you’re the one in the back seat, not the front, do your best not to distract the driver, keeping the volume at an appropriate level.
- Lastly, be strong! Try not to get frustrated in traffic, at your guests, or other potential irritants. Losing your cool can only make a situation worse.

The North American International Auto Show saw the reveal of the 2018 GMC Terrain redesign, which follows GMC’s evolving design language and introduces new bold, modern styling.
The new Terrain has sharper lines and more sculpted accents like the redesigned grille and lighting elements, plus a new shape developed by tweaking it to perfection in the wind tunnel for a quieter cabin and more aerodynamic body.
The Denali trim is also all-new and features the signature Denali chrome grille, body-color fascias, chrome roof rails, and body-side molding, plus LED headlamps and ultra-bright aluminum wheels.
The Terrain’s interior has been updated too. Soft-touch materials and premium accents give the Terrain extra luxury, and its active noise cancellation works with the sculpted exterior to create a super quiet ride. Fold-flat rear and passenger seats allow for more cargo space than ever.
Technology and engineering are better than ever, with 7- or 8-inch infotainment systems, turbocharged engine choices, and tons of new safety features. Parents will especially love Surround Vision, Forward Collision Alert with Following Distance Indicator, and Low-Speed Forward Automatic Braking, just three of the seven new features available on the 2018 Terrain.
More updates on the 2018 Terrain and other new GMC vehicles are sure to come in the next months, so don’t miss out! The new GMC lineup is sure to be more refined and advanced than ever.
Buick is setting new standards when it comes to automotive luxury, thanks to the new Avenir sub-brand. This refined lineup of sophisticated vehicles is designed to cater to your every need, offering premium trims, exclusive materials, ergonomic designs, and award-winning styles. You won’t want to leave the driver’s seat of any new Buick Avenir.
The Avenir lineup was created to meet the needs of Buick’s expanding customer base, especially drivers looking for top-of-the-line quality. Buick has always been synonymous with luxury, but the new Avenir brand will give drivers something extra, says Buick. Translated from French, Avenir refers to “the future.” It was first introduced on the award-winning 2015 Avista concept, and the brand hopes to bring that level of appeal to a whole new range of vehicles.
“Through the first half of 2016, Buick has been the industry’s fastest-growing major international brand, and Avenir is key to future growth and delivering on the high expectations of new customers coming to our showrooms,” said Duncan Aldred, vice president of Global Buick Sales, Service and Marketing. “Avenir will be Buick’s signature. The highest expression of the luxury experiences we’re delivering now and in the future.”
What exactly comes with a Buick Avenir trim? Though Buick has yet to release all the details, you can be sure that the new cars will come with mesh grilles, large-diameter wheels, special finishes, ultra-modern interiors, and impeccable acoustics in the cabin. Naturally, you’ll also find exclusive woods, leathers, and brushed metals as accents. We can’t wait to see the new Avenir sub-brand in action.
The Buick Envision is a relatively new name in Buick’s lineup after being introduced to the brand for the 2016 model year. At that time, the Envision was available only in two (well-appointed) trim levels at a higher price point. Now, however, it seems the 2017 Envision updates include a broader range of trim levels, with the base model coming in at a much lower sticker price; there’s also a new engine option in the mix.
For 2016, only the Premium I and Premium II trims were offered to the public. For 2017, the Envision crossover features five models in its lineup. Base, Preferred, and Essence are the newest additions, slotting underneath the Premium trim levels to offer customers more affordable options. These three lower trim levels also come with a different option, a less powerful 2.5-liter four-cylinder that comes standard on all but the Premium I and II models.
Other 2017 Envision updates include a new Teen Driver monitoring feature that allows parents to keep an eye on their teenaged driver from afar and utilize parental controls, as well as Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. Other than that, however, customers will be attracted to the 2017 Envision’s new, lower sticker price and more plentiful options.
Every year, Downtown Redlands continues the holiday tradition of celebrating December and the holiday season with local business owners decorating their businesses for the Holiday Stroll. These light displays are then judged by a secret panel of judges who partake in the event and hand out prizes to the best-decorated small businesses in the area.
It’s a great way for business owners to interact with their community, so come on down and enjoy the Holiday Stroll light displays for yourself.
By this time, the light displays have already been up for a couple weeks, with People’s Choice Voting already having started on the 5th of December and ending the 12th. However, if all you’re looking for is to enjoy the stunning Christmas lights that decorate all of Downtown Redlands, don’t worry; business owners will leave their displays up until Christmas.
The Holiday Stroll itself will officially be happening the morning of December 10th, from 10am until 5pm, so make sure to mark your calendars so you can participating – and maybe even take your time to grab good food or a drink from the local businesses in Downtown Redlands. The Holiday Stroll light displays aren’t going anywhere anytime soon, but don’t let that stop you from coming down as soon as you can.

While shopping for a new car, consumers continue to look for a vehicle that is dependable. Because of this, JD Power releases an annual study that looks at vehicle dependability. This year, the Buick Verano outperformed every other model in its class in dependability, helping the Buick brand become the third-ranked dependable carmaker in the industry.
Along with the Verano coming out on top as the JD Power Most Dependable Vehicle in the compact car segment, the Buick LaCrosse was also recognized as the leader of the Large Car segment for the second consecutive year. The Encore was also ranked the highest in the Small SUV segment.
“Buick’s ranking is a demonstration of our mission to provide the best in reliability, quality, and customer service,” said Duncan Aldred, vice president of Global Buick. “As we enter an exciting year of vehicle launches, we will show both new and returning customers that quality continues to be a top priority for the brand.”
The JD Power Vehicle Dependability Study looks at the problems that have been reported by the original owners of three-year-old vehicles within the past 12 months. Those vehicles with the least amount of problems come out on top in their respective segments.

Every year in the United States, a surprising number of children die of heat stroke due to being forgotten in the back seat of a car. Busy parents can easily get distracted, forgetting that their young child is sleeping in the back. The 2017 GMC Acadia is looking to prevent this potentially deadly forgetfulness, though, with a brand-new technology—Rear Seat Reminder.
“Acadia drivers live busy lives with demanding schedules, and the Rear Seat Reminder helps protect the things we care about most,” said Tricia Morrow, GM global safety strategy engineer. “Whether it’s your lunch, laptop, pet, or most importantly, your child, it’s easier than it seems to forget what’s in the back seat when moving between life’s events. With this new feature, we are leading the charge to address this ongoing problem.”
The GMC Acadia Rear Seat Reminder is an industry-first feature designed to remind drivers to check the back seat as they exit the vehicle. It monitors the Acadia’s rear doors. If the rear door is opened and closed within 10 minutes before the vehicle starts, then the Rear Seat Reminder will go off when you exit the crossover. It will also go off if the rear doors have been opened and closed while the vehicle is running.
While this safety fixture will definitely remind you that there is possible something in your back seat, it doesn’t actually detect the object. The Rear Seat Reminder safety feature will come standard on all 2017 Acadia models.
Buick continues to be one of the safest automakers in the world, consistently offering a lineup of models that score highly on the industry’s top safety exams. In fact, the 2017 Buick Encore was just named the third new Buick with a 5-Star Safety Rating from the NHTSA.
Specifically, the Buick Encore scored five stars in both the front and side impact tests, and scored four stars in the rollover test – leading to an overall score of five. The Encore joins the new Buick Cascada and Buick Regal with this prestigious score.
The standard safety features available in the new Buick Encore include antilock brakes, brake assist, a rearview camera, 10 airbags, and more, while optional features include side blind-zone alert, rear park assist, forward collision alert, and lane departure warning.
The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) has been operating its 5-Star Safety Rating Program for decades. In recent years, it has stood out among other safety scorers by offering a rollover crash rating.
