Holiday shopping is always chaotic, with large crowds, and some terrific savings. With its ability to hold more shopping bags than any other car in its class, the Buick Encore would be perfect for anyone’s holiday shopping needs. Buick is building its reputation as the ideal car for shopping through a collaboration with Michelle Madhok, shopping expert and founder of shefinds.com; and Michelle Krebs, a senior analysis at Edmunds.com.
To help people nationwide conquer the holiday shopping mayhem, Madhok, Krebs and Buick of combined their brain power to come up with some terrific shopping tips, suggesting consumers aim for big-ticket, highly discounted items (hello, new 72” flat screen TV), ignore the price warranty and home installation package, make a list of prioritized items, do some research beforehand, and park when you find an open spot, even if it’s not in choice territory.
According to Michelle Krebs, when it comes to choosing which car is perfect for your holiday shopping, bigger isn’t always better. “Compact cars and SUVs, such as the Buick Encore, have a surprising amount of interior room and are agile and easier to park. The Encore’s petite dimensions pay dividends when it’s time to squeeze into undersized parking spaces.”
Make sure you stop by Hatfield Buick GMC to check out the Buick Encore before you go holiday shopping!
We all know just how stressful shopping can be—especially with the holiday season just around the corner. Chevrolet, Buick, GMC and Cadillac dealers in the U.S. will be making car shopping almost stress free for prospective car owners across the country with the introduction of a new online retailing tool.
“Shop-Click-Drive,” the new service, will allow customers to look at specific vehicles, get an estimated price, review incentives, learn about and choose a variety of financing insurance products, and receive information about their trade-in and apply for financing—the normal activities that take place in a dealership—all online, available 24/7.
“We want to make it easier and simpler for dealers to connect with customers who are looking to combine the convenience of online shopping with the personal service of a neighborhood dealership,” said GM’s Kurt McNeil, vice president, U.S. Sales Operations. “We engaged dealers to help us develop ‘Shop-Click-Drive’ to address this need.”
The cutting edge service, which no other automaker has yet, was first piloted earlier this year and is now available to General Motors dealers across the U.S.
With the future of electric cars depending on the Chinese auto market, it’s no surprise that Buick has introduced the all-new Buick LaCrosse eAssist “Comfort” model to China last month. A car that is equipped with not only advanced eAssist hybrid technology but also performance and comfort, there’s no doubt it will help China reach its “new energy vehicle” policy goal of 500,000 new energy vehicles on the road by 2015.
For only RMB 249,900, the equivalent of a little over $40,000 US, the LaCrosse eAssist offers some amazing advantages to the Chinese market at an affordable price. The car is powered by a hybrid powertrain that combines a 2.4-liter SIDI engine with a 15kW electric motor and high-performance lithium batteries that gets about 45 miles per gallon highway and 33 miles per gallon combined, which is a 20% increase from the conventionally powered model.
The LaCrosse now offers something for everyone with eight different trim levels with four powertrain options. Do you think there’s a LaCrosse for you? Stop by your local Buick dealer today to check out your options!
Buick’s roll continues: General Motors announced that the brand’s total October sales increased by 31 percent and its retail sales jumped 25 percent from those figures last year. This marks the 18th consecutive month of year-over-year growth for Buick. A big reason for that success: the best-selling Enclave.
According to the Associated Press, Enclave’s 2013 U.S. sales are up almost 12 percent over 2012’s figures. As of November 1, the Enclave has sold 46,384 units in America, making it the top-seller in Buick’s luxurious lineup. Those figures don’t even factor in the arrival of the 2014 Enclave, which only recently hit showrooms like that of Hatfield Buick and GMC.
The 2014 Enclave comes standard with three rows of available seating and is powered by a direct-injected 3.6L V6 that produces 288 horsepower and 270 lb.-ft. of torque. The Los Angeles Times praised the 2014 Enclave’s refinement in styling and performance, noting in particular the comfortable ride, abundance of available power, and the refreshment of the exterior styling.
As Buick enjoys the residuals of its best October in a decade, the Enclave stands firm as a primary cause. On track to enjoy its best sales year in its history, November promises to be a fruitful one for both the Buick brand and its best-selling Enclave.
Let us know: are you considering upgrading to the luxurious 2014 Enclave? Are you an Enclave driver with a testimonial about why you love your ride? Leave us a comment and give us your take!
Buick is the oldest automotive make in the United States and among the oldest automotive makes in the world. In 1899 Buick began as Buick Auto-Vim and Power Company. They incorporated as the Buick Motor Company in 1903. The following year, Buick produced only 37 cars, but by 1908, Buick has surpassed Ford and Cadillac as the number one vehicle producer. By 1923 Buick has built its one-millionth vehicle.
The 1930s brought about some notoriety for Buick. King Edward VIII of the United Kingdom had a Buick imported, and George IV, his successor, used a Buick when driving across North America in. Buick also produced what has become known as the world’s first concept car, the Y-Job convertible.
World War II brought new opportunities for Buick as they then constructed M18 Hellcat Tank Destroyers for the military effort.
In the 1960s, Buick introduced the Wildcat as a trim for the Invicta series. The Buick Invicta with the Wildcat trim then was named the Motor Trend Car of the Year which encouraged Buick to launch the Wildcat as its own model. The Riveria was also released as its own model during this decade.
In 1987, Buick introduced the limited production GNX high performance package and sold it for only one year on their Regal model.
In 1999, Buick introduced the Riveria Silver Arrow to commemorate their original 1963 original concept car. Three years later, Buick introduced the Rendezvous crossover, the first truck-based vehicle since 1923. By 2004, Buick had started to put V8s into their vehicles.
Today, you can see the history of Buick in their current models. You can admire the hard work and innovation put into every car. Come to Hatfield Buick GMC and you can test drive a piece of history.
