For the past year, the Buick brand has been on a roll. It seems every month, the brand or its top rated vehicles are receiving a new award, and February proved to be no exception. The latest accolade comes from Consumer Reports, who placed Buick in a spot on the magazine’s list of Top 10 Car Brands.
Buick is the only domestic brand to make it on the list, coming in at number seven and beating out Honda, Kia, and BMW. This further proves that Buick has made some real changes that both car buyers and the industry as a whole find valuable.
“For years, domestic automakers built lower-priced and lower-quality alternatives to imports, but those days are behind us,” said Jake Fisher, Consumer Reports director of automotive testing, in a statement. “Today, many domestic models can go toe-to-toe with the best imports.”
Consumer Reports’ Car Brand Report Cards rank brands based on road test scores along with predicted reliability. It takes the average of both of these scores to see which brands have created vehicles with the ideal combination of both performance and reliability.
In addition to receiving this honor for the overall brand, the Buick Regal was chosen as a “top pick” in the sports sedan segment, taking out even the BMW 328i, which had won this segment for the past two years.
