The 2015 Buick Encore put together a five-star performance in the National Highway Safety Administration’s (NHTSA) New Car Assessment Program). Enduring the NHTSA’s battery of crash testing like the champion that it is, the all-wheel drive and front-wheel drive Enclave put up some all-star-quality numbers.
Each year, the NHTSA performs crash testing to new vehicles in a number of different scenarios ranging from head-on collisions to simulated side-impacts. The 2015 Encore earned an overall 5 out of 5 star safety rating by putting up 5-star performances in the front and side collision testing and a 4-star performance in the rollover test.
That is due in large part to the design team packing this small crossover with a strong steel frame and 10 airbags which include: driver and passenger side knee protection, rear-seat airbags, a full side-curtain, and all-occupant thorax airbags.
“Consumers are consistently surprised to discover Encore provides the characteristics they expect in our larger offerings – style, sophistication, connectivity and comfort,” stated Duncan Aldred, vice president of Buick. “NHTSA’s evaluation affirms Encore lives up to Buick’s safety reputation.”
The 2015 Encore now joins the 2015 Buick Enclave, Verano, Regal, and LeCrosse as having perfect NHTSA safety scores. Because of this, you can feel confident in driving the 5-star safety rated Buick Encore, available now from Hatfield Buick GMC.
