Buick may be an American brand, but China is getting the goodies first with the launch of the Buick Envision at the Chengdu Motor Show.
The Envision is a crossover utility vehicle (also known as a CUV) that slots right between the subcompact Encore and the larger Enclave. It looks a bit like a stretched Encore in some places, but for the most part carries its own identity and nifty design, like the wing-shaped spoiler, aerodynamic grille, wing-style front, and curved flank lines. Inside, leather, wood, and metal all combine to make for a very pleasant and comfortable-looking experience. If you’ve ever needed just a little more space for your things, and wanted more drivability than a larger vehicle offers, then the Envision is for you.
Though the Envision is launching as a Chinese-market crossover, there is a very strong chance of it arriving on North American soil as early as 2016. Buick is one of GM’s most-improved brands since the recession and crossovers are one of the fastest-growing segments in the current automobile market, so it would only make sense that they bring this great new CUV stateside.
If it does make its way overseas, expect the Envision at Hatfield Buick GMC!
