The 2015 GMC Sierra 3500HD pickup truck has been named winner of the 2014 Ultimate Heavy Duty Challenge in the 1-ton diesel category, after extensive testing by Cars.com, PickupTrucks.com, and Mrtruck.com.
In testing, the 2015 GMC Sierra 3500HD was pit against the Powerstroke-powered Ford F350 and the Cummins-powered Ram 3500, its strongest competitors. This included 0-60 mph acceleration comparisons, 60-0 braking distances, fuel economy, and even the ability to go downhill without having to press the brake pedal.
The 2015 Sierra’s diesel exhaust brake is specially integrated with the grade braking and cruise control, which makes it easy for drivers to haul heavy loads over long distances of any kind. It also stood out thanks to its quality all-new interior, infotainment interface, and 8-inch navigation screen.
“We’ve always believed we’ve had the best heavy duty truck on the market,” said Sierra Marketing Manager Stuart Pierce. “This validation from PickupTrucks.com, a leader in covering the pickup industry, is gratifying for the entire team that designed, engineered, and now sells this capable and refined truck.”
